Celebrate ASPCA/Rachel Ray's 100K Challenge Winners With Gigantic Giveaway!

The Grand Prize winner of this year's ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge: The Central California SPCA in Fresno! Let's all put our paws together in a round of applause for this amazing group—and for all of the other winners, too!

The fifth and final ASPCA Rachel Ray 100K Challenge is officially one for the history books. And what a glorious history of saving lives it is! Animal shelters from all over the country work for three months to increase their adoption numbers over the same time the previous year, with the added incentive of a donation of $100,000 to the winning shelter, plus lots of other prizes. This year the combined total of lives saved is a whopping 68,805 in just 90 short days—that's more that twice the increases when the challenge began in 2010. And here's one more figure: In the challenge's five years, the competing shelters saved more than a quarter of a million lives! 

Kudos to both Rachel Ray and the ASPCA for collaborating on this massive effort to find so many shelter animals loving, forever homes! But here's the best part: The extraordinary success of the participating shelters is proof that it can be done. Euthanasia rates can be drastically reduced with collaborative community efforts and lots of hard work. And it can happen at any animal shelter in the world. There are no excuses.

ASPCA's Rachel Ray $100K Challenge And Gift Pack Giveaway!

We're giving away this ASPCA gift pack! See details at the end of this post to enter!

We're thrilled to help promote this year's $100K Rachel Ray challenge, where 49 pet shelters across the country will compete to save lives. During the months of June, July and August, these shelters will work with their communities to save more orphaned animal's lives than they did during the same three-month period the year before. The ASPCA and Rachel Ray will award a $100,000 grand prize to the shelter that achieves the greatest increase in lives saved during this three-month time frame. Ready, set
go! A combined total of 2,047 pet lives have already been saved during the Challenge's kickoff weekend starting June 1-2, 2013!

But wait, there's more. The shelter contestant that does the best job engaging it's community members to help save more animals will win $25,000. And those organizations that do the best in their divisions will be eligible for between $10,000 and $25,000 in additional grants. They'll be a whopping total of  $600,000 in grant funding awarded for increases in animals saved and well as for various other participatory events.

Why not check to see if one of your local shelters is participating and ask what you can do to help them save more precious lives and come out a winner. And while you're there, you just might want to add a new family member... As always, thanks so much for your support!
