We thrilled to bring you news about this very generous campaign and giveaway from Walkers Shortbread. Yes, those Walkers, who have been creating the best shortbread cookies in the world since 1898 from two small villages in Scotland. They've teamed up this year with the ASPCA to help fund their animal welfare initiatives across the United States with a very clever (and tasty) campaign. Walkers has literally shaped its delicious shortbread recipe into Scotland's own Scottish Terrier, one of five breeds of the Skye terriers that originated in Scotland. We received two boxes of these delectable canines, courtesy of Walkers, for our sampling pleasure.
Just add a steaming cup of tea...
Jim Walker, the managing director of Walkers Shortbread, says that "working with the ASPCA is a great way for us, as well as our customers, to show appreciation for animals...Over the next year, Walkers is dedicated to helping the ASPCA raise awareness of the issues of animal cruelty and homelessness and will support the valuable work they do for animals across the U.S." To that we say, "Bravo!"
Here's how you can help: For every purchase of the box or special gift tin of Scottie Dog shortbread cookies through 2012, Walkers will donate 10 cents to the ASPCA, with a minimum donation of $25,000! Why wait? Why not stock up for gifts? Proceed to checkout right here to purchase both the boxes and tins: www.walkersus.com/product/Scottie_Dog_Shaped_Shortbread/23217.aspx
And just because Walkers loves dogs and dog bloggers, they're generously giving away a special gift tin brimming with delicious shortbread Scottie Dogs to one lucky winner here on Bocci's Beefs! Thank you, Walkers Shortbread.
Isn't this a charming gift tin?
