In case you were caught unawares like we were, there's something special on the telly this evening! Either set your DVR's or plop down on a comfy couch with your best four-legged friend to watch the
2012 Hero Dog Awards tonight at 8:00pm EST on the Hallmark Channel. According to the American Humane Association website, the Humane Association Hero Dog Awards were created to "celebrate the devoted relationship between dogs and people." This year, there are awards in eight different categories and the "winners were selected by the public from a pool of over 350 contestants." The black-tie, red carpet affair was held in Los Angeles back in October and is broadcast tonight.
Although the award categories include law enforcement and military dogs, among other highly trained canines, it also includes an "emerging hero" category for just ordinary dogs like, well, me. Parental Unit has already dubbed me the winner of
