Presidential Pets Through The Years

The Presidential election is in the home stretch! Parental Unit and I wonder aloud whether the candidates' pet ownership should be a factor in our voting decisions. Let us know what you think!

We love this article from last week's New York Times that discusses in detail the pet owning proclivities of our current and past Presidential candidates and Presidents. The information, complete with photos of First Canines and Felines (among other species) is both informative and fun.

Did you know, for example, that the White House has welcomed alligators, pigs and even a cow named Mooly Wooly as temporary residents? Take this accompanying quiz  ("Pomp, Circumstance, Fur") on Presidential pets to test your knowledge —it's guaranteed to amuse!

Well, this is tricky because the Clintons actually don't have the best track record with pets. They gave away their cat Socks and Buddy, their dog was hit by a car, some say because he wasn't properly trained or watched. Obviously, I will still be voting for Hillary, but I do wish they were a bit more responsible in this area.
