The "Puppy Savior": Ohio Man Has Driven Over One Million Miles Saving Dogs

Greg Mahle drives 4200 miles every other week to connect abandoned dogs with loving homes.

Sit back, relax and enjoy this joyful story...and then make a plan to see what you can do in your neck of the woods to help animals in need. We all can't be like Greg Mahle, who makes a 4,200 mile trip every two weeks picking up and transporting dogs to their forever homes. But he's not alone in this endeavor: "An army of volunteers show up at each stop to help walk and feed 74 dogs." One of the faithful volunteers says, "He is a doggie savior. That's why we come."

The Today Show's "American Story" segment featured Mahle's rescue travels just this week, and beautifully describes some of the canine lives he's saved, and the human families he's helped make complete. The great part of this story, we think, is that for every human that disposes of a dog like they're trash, there are so many others willing to donate their energy and time to help save those same lives.

We so agree. For every nasty person who cares little for animals there are those that go so out of their way to undo the damage. We salute them all. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
