Remember those hundreds of orphaned pets residing in the Joplin, Missouri, shelter after their city's devastating tornado? Well, this weekend, starting bright and early tomorrow morning, is the big adopt-a-thon for those dogs and cats just waiting for new homes.
Sponsored by the twin efforts of the Joplin Humane Society and the ASPCA, the event will kick off Saturday, June 25th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm CDT, with a live Twitter event at: twitter.com/#!/aspca.
To find out all of the fun details about this important event, like where to go, what to bring, when to arrive, please visit : www.aspca.org/joplin.
And did you know that June is "Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month" and the Joplin shelter just happens to have over 300 sweet kitties for you to choose from...did we say sweet, adorable cuddly kitties? Meow!
And one last bit of information in case you're still wavering: "Every pet available this weekend comes spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to join your family." Such a deal!
I'm not ashamed to say that I actually like cats, although my feline sister can be a real pest at times-see below.
