Music To Calm The Wild...Kitty?

                                   What me? Wild?

Well, maybe Bella doesn't need to relax, but this recent article in The New York Times says that music has a calming affect on felines—but of course, only a particular kind of music. " 'Music for Cats' is a series of whirring, lilting and at times, squeaky musical tracts designed for cats' brains and ears". It was created by David Teie, a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra and animal scientists working together to help felines, well, relax, particularly when home alone.

Early testing shows that the music is particularly beneficial to rescue cats and "could be therapeutic for cats who have experienced neglect or abuse." Teie says "he wants to bring the beauty and comfort of music to as many species as possible." Dogs are next on his agenda.

Meanwhile, the creators have produced more songs for a full feline album thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, with a percentage of future proceeds going to the ASPCA.

Parental Unit can't help but remember her first cat, Fat Albert, who fled the room each and every time little nine year old Parental Unit so much as picked up her clarinet case to practice. She didn't even have to remove the clarinet! Hmmm. Wonder why?

We'd love to hear what you think of this idea. Would you purchase an album of cat music and/or have contributed to their Kickstarter campaign?  Please let us know!
