Does Your Dog Have A Wild Side? #NaturalBalance Says Yes!

Scene from our recent fall hike in Southwestern Ohio

And we say "yes", too! After all, dogs are instinctual animals whose ancestors are wolves, so it's only natural that every dog, no matter the breed or blend, has a need to explore the outdoors, hunt (or at least chase) wild critters and craves an ancestral diet—food that closely resembles what we dogs would eat in the wild.

  1. This post is sponsored by Natural Balance, and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word the word about Natural Balance Wild PursuitTM or Natural Balance Treats, but Bocci's Beefs only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Natural Balance is not responsible for the content of this article.
Natural Balance® Pet Foods has stepped up to the plate (or bowl, as the case may be) with it latest high protein, grain free product line for dogs and cats of all life stages and breeds: Natural Balance Wild PursuitTM.   What we particularly like about Wild Pursuit is the wide variety of unique animal protein sources in each of it's three formulas: trout, salmon and tuna,  lamb, chicken and guinea fowl or chicken, turkey and quail. And each contains pieces of freeze-dried raw protein for an extra nutritional boost.

I received the lamb, chicken and guinea fowl formula to sample. Instead of grains, it contains legumes and carbohydrate sources like garbanzo beans and peas.

Parental Unit currently feeds me a high protein, grain free dry food that she supplements with canned, some dehydrated raw, and human food, like meats and vegetables. But both of us think it's important to rotate foods, so I'm not always eating the same thing—that's why the wide variety of proteins in the Wild Pursuit formulas are particularly appealing. We also both love treats and believe treats for pets should taste fantastic and be healthy, too.

Keep in mind that the Natural Balance Wild Pursuit product line includes 35 varieties of dry and canned food, and of course, treats for both dogs and cats. We took a pouch of treats along for our picnic.

The treats helped fuel my hike...and a little light reading I did along the trail. It's always smart to put your travels in historical context, you know.

Even when we're on a day-long hike, Parental Unit insists on some cuddle time. How can I truly commune with my wild side with a Parental Unit hangin' around? Drat!

Check out the full line of Natural Balance Wild Pursuit dog and cat food and see what you think. You can also follow Natural Balance on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the latest info about their pet food. In the meantime, let us know how your dog indulges his or her wild side. We'd love to hear all about it!

Katy communed with nature just this morning coming in dripping in mud. Thankfully Bailey didn't follow suit. Katy then communed with water and got a soapy bath to remove her mud treatment.

There's nothing like a "mud mask" to help you commune with nature!
