Created back in 1981 by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), National Pet Week is always celebrated the first full week in May—this year it's May 3-9, 2015. This special week not only encourages responsible pet ownership, but provides a time to celebrate the over 200 million pets that enrich our lives each day.
Check out the myriad of suggested ways you can help participate in National Pet Week. We especially love that the AVMA provides detailed resources for veterinarians, teachers and yes, pet owners, to help everyone celebrate and honor their pets.
