Pet Friendly Art Show Donates To Local Humane Society

A recent art opening at the Mark Miller Gallery in Manhattan, aptly titled,  Dogs & Cats: 21 Artists Unleashed and on the Prowl, went to the dogs—dogs at the Humane Society of New York, that is. According to this article in The Times, works in the show "present variations on the theme of how we live with pets and what they reveal about humanity." View a partial slide show of artists' work and enjoy reading more about this exhibition on the gallery website.

Those who were lucky enough to attend the opening reception could bring their four-legged friends, and even browse for a new family member, courtesy of the Humane Society of New York, who attended with adoptable dogs and cats in tow. In an additional nod to this organization's good work, 10% of all art sales from the exhibit goes directly to them. We love to see a win-win-win situation, especially one involving homeless pets, non-profits and artists. Kudos to the Mark Miller Gallery and the organizers of this exhibition!
