Dog Park!

We wanted to share a few photos from last weekend's trip to the dog park. It's been gorgeous weather here, after what seemed like months of rain, and Parental Unit has been taking me to the "small dog side" of one of our local dog parks every weekend. Unfortunately, the park closest to our home is, well, nothing to write home about" as far as looks—no trees at all, basically just a reclaimed car inpoundment lot. But at least I get to mingle with other dogs and run off leash.

Parental Unit is pretty proud of my behavior last week, although she claims she's is not competitive in the least...There were lots of dogs there, including a gorgeous and intense, mini Australian Shepherd. His parents had him chasing a squishy red rubber ball, just the kind that I love. Each time that either his parental unit or mine threw that ball, I beat that little Aussie by a country mile and nabbed his ball!

Here I am playing with my new favorite toy after trouncing the Aussie yet again.

Parental Unit loves this picture: The Aussie intently watching me play with his ball! After awhile, Parental Unit got pretty embarrassed and started cheering the Aussie on, but to no avail.

Just before we left, Parental Unit chatted with an interesting guy who said he changed careers mid-life and was just finishing up his first year at the Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine. He just loves pugs and has adopted four (so far), each with different disabilities. One sweetie had only one eye, another a lightly fractured back.

Here's the happy family after they were leashed and ready to go.

Kudos to that fellow and his crew of rescued pugs!
