Top Pet Protection Tips For Spring!

                                      Is it spring yet?

We don't think it's too early to start thinking spring—after all, we just gained an extra hour of light today! I know that means that Parental Unit will get off her fat butt and take me for evening walks every night, rather than just once in awhile!

In honor of some extra light in our lives, and hopefully more outdoor activity, here are a few spring  safety tips from our friends at The North Shore Animal League. It doesn't hurt to be reminded of the basics, like not letting your dog's head stick out the car window, even for short trips, no riding in the back of pick-up trucks or drinking from long-standing water puddles. And we're going to add one of our own: If your dog hasn't been exercising regularly during the winter months, don't "overdo it" the first few times out—both you and your dog will benefit from working up to your usual spring and summer activity levels—you don't have to get your exercise all in one day, you know.

We hope you enjoy the slightly warmer weather and extra daylight, and that you and your pooch spend some time romping outdoors today.
