Ride The Rails With Fido Or Fluffy In Tow

I'd be thrilled to ride on one of these babies...how about you?

We love this article from a recent Washington Post that praises members of Congress from both sides of the aisle who have united on one issue: pets. Yes, one of the rare bipartisan bills that seems likely to get a final O.K. from Congress is the "Pets On Trains Act" that would allow Amtrak passengers to take their dogs or cats with them on board. Currently, Amtrak's pet policy only allows service animals to accompany its human passengers.

And get this: the ASPCA convinced Congressional democrats and republicans to attend a recent animal adoption event where officeholders of all ilks posed with adoptable animals. What's next - a unanimous  bi-partisan budget bill? Naw...

I'm all packed-when do we go?!

That's pretty cool, Bocci! I imagine traveling by train with our assistants would be much more comfortable than traveling in the baggage department on a plane! I've only traveled by car, but I think a short train ride might be fun.

Your pal, Pip

This is great news for me because I don't fly, and wouldn't be able to take my dogs in the cabin with me even if I did, but I do like trains. I wonder what the size restrictions and things like that would be? I think it would be great if the trains also had a car with fake turf and all where the dogs would run and go potty, etc! Now I'm dreaming.
