Pet Photography: A Primer

Are you frequently frustrated when you try and snap a cute photo of your pet and come away with a dark blob instead?  Well, be frustrated no more! Here are some basic tips to help you get better shots (or as the article says "a mantel worthy portrait"),  from the Los Angeles based pet photographer, Grace Chon, that were recently published in The New York Timesgadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/03/8-secrets-to-perfect-pet-photos/?scp=1&sq=Photographing%20Pets&st=cse

We happen to believe that photography of any kind is an art, and more than likely, no amount of tips can replace an artist's eye and soul. What do you think?

P.S. Don't for get to enter "Timmy's weekly disaster contest"-it's fun and easy! Just fill in the blank: "And if Timmy_____________________, so be it!" And send your creation to my e-mail address: jdemarti@columbus.rr.com. We always look forward to reading what misery you've cooked up for Timmy each week:-)

Mom's a big fan of using treats (and frisbees) for getting us to look at the camera. Heh. The rest of the time she just shoots a million pictures and keeps about 3. ;-)

All we can say is, "Thank God for digital!"
It takes about 100 shots to get a good one...and try working with a crazy terrier. Patience required :)

Hi Bocci,
Mom loves to take pictures of me and I don't mind because TREATS are usually involved!! We also find that patience is a good skill in taking pictures of me as I get distracted fairly easily!
