We couldn't believe our eyes when we read this short piece posted today on the Huffington Post blog. It seems that there's a new App on the market (there's an App for everything these days, isn't there?), to be used only on Android devices, that allows users to raise and train their own virtual dog for... dogfighting!
Users now get to engage virtual dogs in bloody, to-the-death fights!

Now, we usually tend to favor free speech, so perhaps we're not legally opposed to this new "game", plus, we haven't actually seen it, but we can safely say at this point that it sounds disgusting to us. And we're not the only ones. The President for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals issued a statement that says in part: "Dog Wars is a sickening tool that can be used to recruit potential dog fighters about how to train future victims...".
Let us know what you think: Is this new App just a harmless game that won't translate into more dog fighting, or is it a tool to incite even greater participation in this illegal activity?

Sounds like something that will give people ideas as well as making them immune to the horror that is dog fighting. I'm disgusted by the company that produced this game, and will make a note of avoiding ALL their products in the future if they continue to support this app.

It saddens us that creators of this game are so insensitive. What does it say about their hearts? This is so sad.
