The Dog Whisperer On "CBS News Sunday Morning"!

For those of you who don't religiously watch the Sunday morning news program "CBS News Sunday Morning", like Parental Unit and I do, check out this 10 minute profile piece that aired yesterday featuring  our favorite guy, Cesar Millan. Leslie Stahl, the groundbreaking journalist (she crashed the boy's club on CBS's "60 Minutes", among many other scoops), brought her young pup, Parker, to Millan's new dog psychology center in the hills surrounding Los Angeles-and that's where the lessons (and the fights!) ensue.

We're bringing this video clip to you courtesy of that fabulous blogger, Neil Brogan, from Life With Dogs fame. So take a visit to his site right here and enjoy: www.lifewithdogs.tv/2010/10/interview-with-the-dog-whisperer.

P.S. One of these days soon, Parental Unit is going to figure out how to do this video thing herself, even if I have to personally train her-duh! Should be easy since I know already that she "works for food"...

We too watch CBS Sunday Morning religiously and were happy to see a dog segment! We're not too fond of Cesar's methods in general -- maybe it's because in 8 years our "parental units" have yet to figure how to get out of the door first -- and JH actually had a funny paw-to-paw encounter with him right here in Plantation --but we do agree that training people is the key to training dogs.

Hi Bocci. Mama is just figuring out the whole video thing as well. Papa makes great videos, but he is not always around to help. The videos we have posted have all been created by Papa. You will figure it out soon!

Your pal, Pip

Cesar may be overexposed, and some of his methodologies for dealing with specific issues seem a little wacky (his show on NatGeo elicits at least one big, guffawing "Oh, come on" per episode), but in his overall perspective -- human as pack leader, rather than as parent or best friend -- I think he's spot-on. He's a popularizer and a self-promoter, yes, but I reckon he's got the chops to back it up.
