Thankful Thursday

Well, it's that time again-Parental Unit and I skipped last Thursday (not that we didn't have lots to be thankful for) but because...we, well...forgot - we were instead, engrossed with the Brits problems (and solution) to their overpopulation of gray squirrels.

Anyway, here's a few things I'm thankful for this week:

                             My treat jar!

My cousin, Mugsy (he's recovered nicely from his attack and appreciated all of your well wishes.

This beautiful handmade, bejeweled collar that I won from our friends, Maggie and Mitch earlier this summer.

And Parental Unit is thankful that she made it through the first week of fall semester classes with only two small problems:

1. A blown tire (she ran over yet another curb!)

2. The dead bolt lock on her front door breaking from the inside so that the key no longer worked, necessitating prying open a window, climbing a ladder and shoving her overweight torso through the window onto the floor... i.e., she had to break into her own house! (Note to Parental Unit: carry back door key too).

We'll close this Thankful Thursday with an early heads-up: The month of October is national Adopt-A-Dog Month-lets see what we can come up with to help out!

That's a lot of wonderful things to be thankful for, Bocci. I'm not sure what we can do to help off the top of my head, but I'm sure thankful that I was adopted and so is Franklin.

lotsa licks, Lola

Those are great things to be thankful for! That collar is beast.

Your Parental Unit has awesome taste in books! The first Terhune story that I read was "Some Sunnybank Dogs", a small compilation in a larger collection of dog stories. You can imagine how excited/thrilled I was when I found out he had written more! Whole books! We need more authors like him.

Hmm. Has the Parental Unit considering hiding a key somewhere? Or giving one to a trust-worthy neighbor? Mom and Dad have done both, so as to avoid any such (future) incidents, because yes, they've done that, too (but managed to climb up on the roof and get in through an unlocked upstairs balcony door)... BTW, you've got a most excellent treat jar there!
