Pet-A-Palooza!

And a real "Palooza" it was! (What the heck does Palooza mean, anyway?)
Well, what ever it means, Parental Unit and I had a great time! It was a beautiful day here in central Ohio and we made the trip to Granville, a neat little college town home to Dennison University, about 45 minutes east of Columbus. The event was a benefit for the Licking County Humane Society, a no kill shelter located just outside of Granville.

Here's the banner welcoming you to Wildwood Park

We were immediately welcomed with homemade human and dog treats-my kinda place!

Here's a view of some of the booths (notice part of the agility training course to the left) What fun that was to watch!

This is a local pet boarding facility whose owners and staff do Airedale rescue. Thanks to them!

Two nice fellows promoting their "Hidden Fences". Great idea, but what would the squirrels run on top of?

Now here's a sweet gal ready to be adopted (the dog, not the girl!). "All Tails Are Waggin'" is another central Ohio pet boarding facility that also does training and rescue.

Yep, here I am with another gal from "All Tails Are Waggin'", but I am NOT up for adoption - been there, done that!

Now here's a good idea-this gal is just getting a business started called, Pet Limo Service. Now before you think pampered pooches will be goin' to fancy restaurants in a stretch limo, this service will help the ederly and their pets to get to those necessary destinations, like the vets, groomer, and pet supply stores. What a great idea!

Now here's a cause we expecially like-these kind folks were collecting signatures to get an issue on Ohio's ballot next year, that if approved by the voters, would ban dog auctions. Many of the dogs at these auctions have come from puppy mills, and the "owners" are just trying to wring the last dollar from these poor dogs. We'll be working to help ya any way we can!

Here I am again, this time at my personal photographer, Rachel's booth. Notice that picture of... ME hanging from her tent! Ha! Check out her latest photo sessions at: www.rachellaurenphotography.com
P.S. to Rachel: thanks for telling Parental Unit about this great event!

And we'll close with the Licking County Human Society's booth. Here's hoping they raised lots of dollars so all the doggies they take in will find furrever homes. check out their website and their facebook page here: http://www.lchspets.org. and here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=309388940888

Like this handsome pooch! (Hey, Parental Unit said the guy ain't bad either.)

Enjoy.

Looks like a fun day! I think that pet limo service sounds like a great idea. Bocci is such a cutie, I can see why he's a "model" pooch!

Thank you Bocci for your recap of yesterday's Pet-A-Palooza!

We invite your readers to visit the Supporters page at http://www.BanOhioDogAuctions.com to view a full list of those working to assist the Coalition to Ban Ohio Dog Auctions. We also invite readers to visit the Legislation page which highlights additional proposed efforts to address puppy mills in Ohio.

If readers would like to sign the Petition (Ohio Dog Auctions Act) and/or help collect signatures, we invite them to visit our Campaigns page. Under Steps for Success, there is a link in which Ohio residents can download the Petition, Instructions for Completing the Petition, Instructions for Those Who Would Like to Help Collect Signatures and other helpful materials to help supporters hit the ground running!

Please note that because this is an Initiated Statute whose rules are governed by the Ohio Secretary of State, all signatures must be collected on a hard copy Petition and cannot be collected online.

Again, we appreciate your dedication to the dogs!

I didn't know about this type of blog! It looks like anyone would've had a great time at the Pet-a-Palooza.

My little boy loves dogs and goes crazy whenever he sees one.

I think this would be a site that I could share with him.

P.S.
I found you through Living Out loud's new blog hop.
