An App To Find Your Lost Pet

Now we really know that there's an "App" for everything: According to a New York Times online article, "Home Again, a company that makes microchip ID devices for pets and supports a pet rescue network, has released a free IPhone App to help volunteers reunite lost pets with their owners." The App is aptly called "Pet Rescuers" and taps into a database of 500,000 volunteers across the country.

Let's just say that the faster we can reunite a lost pet with its owner, the happier everyone will be, and using the latest technology sounds like a great idea to us!

Sounds cool! Except it sounds like just an automatic email that you already get when you're a HomeAgain subscriber. It'd be nice if they had the ability to actually track where the dogs are. When I was a vet tech, people would be calling up constantly expecting us to be able to pinpoint where the animal was. Maybe someday though!

Wow, this would be really great!!! Microchips are an amazing thing! The shelter my mom volunteers at (and where I was adopted) has many incredible stories of reuniting lost animals with their families through microchips!!!

We don't have an Iphone -- but we do have microchips. The app is a great idea though to be able to connect with so many volunteers.

We were looking at the list of things you sunk your toothies into -- and are pleased to note that between us, Just Harry and I can match just about everything on the list. Books, leashes, Gucci sun glasses, glass cases, levelor blinds in the bedroom, film on the window behind the blinds, narrow slat blinds in the window by the front door, remote control, spine of antique book no sooner than brought home, one of mom's sandals. No washcloths. HOWEVER, so many pencils and pens that we've lost count. In fact, one of my birthday presents one year was a box of No. 2s.

Keep up the good work, pal!

Wirey woofs,

Jake (and Just Harry)
